1994: Our Founder's Story
Todd "Toad" Guiton began as a hobby business in 1994 making cheesecakes, cheese dips, spice rubs and seasoning packs. The hot sauces evolved when customers suggested his cold cheesecakes would "be great as an ice cream!" – and Toad Sweat was born.

The Name "Toad Sweat"
While sampling an early version in the Emergency Department staff lounge, Toad broke a sweat from the heat. A nurse exclaimed, "If that sauce is so hot it's making Toad sweat, I'll wait for a milder version!" The name stuck, and Todd refined the concept on his drive home through northwest Georgia.

1997: Product Launch
Key Lime Toad Sweat Dessert Hot Sauce was a huge hit at the Fiery Foods Show in Austin! It was even flown to New York City and tasted live on the nationwide broadcast of Good Morning America on the morning of 25 August 1997 to multiple exclamations of "Wow" from those brave enough to try it.

Now based in the UK, we're bringing back these unique flavors for original fans and new customers alike. Our dessert anything hot sauces continue to change perceptions about sweet and spice, converting skeptics into passionate advocates who can't wait to share the experience with friends and family.
